There's something wonderful about the moment a woven piece finally comes together in your hands. The wire wraps just right, the stone sits perfectly in its frame, and suddenly you're holding something you made, something that didn't exist until you decided to create it.

This pendant has become one of my favorite designs to teach because it brings together everything I love about wire weaving: flowing lines, a densely woven frame, and a decorative bail built right into the design. It's a piece that looks like it belongs in a gallery. And I promise, once you break it down step by step, creating your own is entirely within reach.

Is this tutorial right for you?

Primrose is written for an intermediate weaver, someone who's comfortable holding wire, understands basic weaving patterns, and is ready for a project that will stretch those skills a little further. If that's where you're at, you're going to love the challenge this piece offers.

If you're brand new to weaving, no worries at all. I'd recommend starting with The Beginner's Wire Weaving Course or you can try some of the beginner tutorials in the Artisan Tutorial Vault first to build your foundation. Then, coming back to Primrose when you're ready.

• (x1) Teardrop Cabochon (Mine is 30mm x 20mm)
• (x1) 4-6mm Round Faceted Stone (I used a 5mm)
• About 10" (25 cm) 16 Gauge Square Wire (Dead-Soft)
• About 8" (cm) 14 Gauge Half-Round Wire (Dead-Soft)
• About 56" (cm) 20 Gauge Square or Round Wire (Dead-Soft)
• About 6" (1.5 m) 22 Gauge Round Wire (Dead-Soft)
• About 25' (8 m) of 28 Gauge Round Wire (Dead-Soft)
• Chain Nose Pliers
• Round Nose Pliers
• Flush Cutters
• Small Mandrel
• Ring Mandrel/Round Object
• Sharpie

How long will it take to make it?

Plan for about 6 to 8 hours of relaxed, unhurried work. If you're newer to weaving, it may take a bit longer, and that's more than okay. This isn't a race. Take breaks whenever you need to. Come back to it next week if life gets busy. The tutorial will be waiting for you exactly where you left off.
